Abstract
- The article discusses the use of digital media to improve communications in public-health protection. It refers to and discusses the successful use of these techniques in U.S. President Barack Obama's election campaign. Aspects discussed include the campaign website, its television channel, social networking sites including MySpace and Facebook, mobile phones, and unofficial media creations by Obama supporters. Campaign activities that were administered using each medium are delineated. It then discusses the implications that these techniques have for health communication.
