The article focuses on a proposal to use glue instead of strong, heavy-metal mountings to hold their fuel tanks in place within the fuselage in order to reduce the weight of the spacecraft. Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites designed a technique that would glue the fuel tanks to the inside of the craft. According to Rutan, a secure fit is important since any movement could cause a leak.
