Abstract
- The article presents the authors' perspective on the three-tier system of interpretation of fetal heart rate monitoring proposed by the 2008 Eunice Kennedy Shiver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in the U.S. They remark that the middle tier of the proposed system is vast and heterogeneous, which they proposed can be subcategorized based on evidence from previous studies. They contend that the subcategorization will allow guidelines for interventions of the FHR patterns.
