ORTAK SIR KALIPLARIMIZ: TÜRK DÜNYASI BİLMECELERİ ÜZERİNE.

In this paper some definitions of the riddle type by several researchers are presented together with definitive samples and the synonyms of the term in the Turkish world, the origin of the riddle type and its relation with mythology are focused on. On the scale of the Turkish world, among thousands of riddles approximately seven hundred have been compiled by scanning historical and contemporary written sources of texts. Selected riddles have been thematically classified by using respond, structure and mentality resemblance as a criterion (the samples given in this paper are in limited number are not classified). This paper aims to contribute to the determination of the common cultural heritage of the Turkish world and also contribute to new evaluations of such commonalities together with other spoken text types in terms of quality and quantity.
