Abstract

The article focuses on Tularemia, a disease transmitted from animals caused by the bacteria Francisella (F.) tularensis. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MDHSS) made a study of the occurrence of the disease in the state from 2000 to 2007. Clinicians have indicated that people with F. tularensis show symptoms of skin ulcers or pneumonia and get the disease from infected animal tissue or contaminated food.
