Abstract
- The article focuses on the report of the U.S. Fire Administration which demonstrates that cooking is one major cause of medical facility fires between 2004 and 2006. According to the report, fires in medical facilities caused the death of about five people, 175 injured and $34 million property damage each year. It was found that 55% of all medical facility fires were caused by small, confined cooking fires and suggests that medical staff should be trained for fire emergency.
