Abstract

The article reports on the move of the Bank of England to redesign £50 note to pay homage to two giants of the industrial age in Great Britain. It states that entrepreneur Matthew Boulton and engineer James Watt, who led the developments in the steam engine, will appear on the note. According to Bank of England governor Mervyn King, engineering has a vital role in many of the advantages society enjoys.
