Abstract
- The article emphasizes the importance of objective reporting of scientific results to achieve conservation outcomes for fisheries. It discusses a study of the population genetics of the short-beaked common dolphin Dephinus delphis, conducted to quantify the impact of purse-seine fishing on the South Australian population. It addresses the failure of the researchers to report the authors' main finding that the introduction of an industry Code of Practice (CoP) significantly mitigated the issue.
