NLC Meets With White House on Job Training Reform.

Information about a meeting sponsored by the White House and attended by state and government organization representatives is presented. The meeting aims to solicit opinions about changes that should be made to the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). These include flexibility to determine services to be provided and establishment of a permanent summer jobs program. Also discussed are the seven requests made by National League of Cities (NLC) to the administration as it considers changes to the WIA.
