The article reports on the new regulations in international securities and capital markets in several countries around the world, in the year 2008. It is reported that, the two most important developments affecting the capital markets in Brazil in 2008 were, one was the creation of BM&FBOVESPA SA for securities, commodities and futures exchange, and the other was the classification of Brazil's sovereign debt as investment grade.
