Abstract
- This article reports on the strong selloff of U.S. Treasury notes on June 11, 2009 which pushed the 10-year note's yield above four percent. In addition, an auction of 30-year bonds performed well. James Newman of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc. believes that the selloff presents some buying opportunity in the short term. The outcome of the June 11 auction was a relief for the government amid concerns over investors' willingness to underwrite long-dated Treasury auctions.
