Abstract
- The article reports on the struggle between the U.S. Justice Department and lawmakers over the seizure of $34 million belonging to online poker players by prosecutors. Several laws were used by the government to prosecute online gambling, which were considered by critics as unclear and sometimes contradicted by a patchwork of state laws. The seizure of the online players' money was opposed by the Poker Players Alliance.
