Abstract

The article focuses on a study which investigated the minimum effective dose (ED50) of mephentermine for the prevention of post-spinal hypotension in women undergoing elective caesarean section. The study initially administered a prophylactic infusion of five milligram (mg) mephentermine over a period of 30 minutes and a dose interval of one mg, following the administration of spinal anaesthesia. No significant adverse effects were identified in using mephentermine to prevent post-spinal hypotension.
