Mexico's Ironic Democracy.

The author talks about two events that aggravated the political tensions in Mexico in early May 2009. He notes that the book "Derecho a réplica," by small-time swindler Carlos Ahumada was able to associate the political class in the country with fraud, deceit and venality. The publication of the memoir was followed by a radio interview given by former President Miguel de la Madrid in which he accused his successor and former President Carlos Salinas of conducting criminal activity while serving the post.
