Abstract

The article reports on the state of electronic government (e-government) and the potential impact of the Internet on local governance in the federal republics of the U.S. and Germany. It is noted that e-government in the U.S. is more sophisticated than in Germany, which is based on various factors including professional management and socioeconomic characteristics. It is asserted that local governments in both countries shave not fully maximized the use of e-government.
