A YELLOW ZOSTEROPS SIGHTING AT SAWTELL.

The author describes the Zosterops photographed by the author at Sawtell, New South Wales on February 22, 2009. A range of opinions have been offered by amateur and professional ornithologists regarding the possible nature of the bird. It is noted by the author, that the appearance of the bird matches the appearance of Z. luteus, except from the colour of the bill and legs. He says another possibility is that the bird is an uncommon colour variant of Z. lateralis because of its pale bill and legs. The author concludes that the bird is either a vagrant Z. luteus or an unreported colour variant of Z. lateralis.
