Discusses the possible involvement of abscisic acid (ABA) in senescence of daylily petals. Insensitivity of petals to ethylene; Stimulation of parameters associated with senescence by exogenous ABA; Alteration of messenger RNA levels by ABA; Level of ABA in developing petals; Induction of endogenous ABA and cell death acceleration by osmotic stress.
