Metformin overdose.

Abstract

The article describes the case of 73-year-old man who developed fatal lactic acidosis after a metformin overdose. Particular focus is given to his medical history. His other medications included gliclazide and perindopril. Sinus tachycardia was detected via an electrocardiogram. The results of his arterial blood gas analysis and other laboratory tests are also provided. He experienced persistent hypotension and worsening metabolic acidosis. The patient died several hours after presentation.
