Abstract

The article focuses on the significant impact of the blood pressure (BP) downshift program on the enhancement of BP among commercial driver license (CDL) employees in the U.S. It explores the specific method that assesses the economic impact of a hypertension educational and awareness program, and evaluates the industrial cost of the country. It discusses the result of a study in which employers are considering the use of disease management and health promotion programs to treat hypertension and other related chronic diseases.
