Abstract

ABSTRACT The INTEGRAL Science Data Centre (ISDC) is the interface between the INTEGRAL data and the community of users. The ISDC will receive and process all the INTEGRAL data, distribute them with the results of the processing to the observers and archive them for future use. The ISDC will also provide help and support to the observers when dealing with INTEGRAL data. The ISDC will process the data a first time in near real time in order to spot bright transient sources and thus propose modifications to the observing timeline in a short time. The ISDC will also look for gamma-ray bursts in the field of view of the imaging instruments and when one is detected will provide within a few minutes a position to the community at large. At the present time, the ISDC is developing the analysis infrastructure and tools in close collaboration with the teams building the instruments. The ISDC is funded by a consortium of European and US institutes. It is located in Versoix near Geneva. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
