Abstract

The continuous improvement of the Cuban Higher Education has been systematized during the last years by means of the study plans and programs of disciplines according to the conception of the study plans "C" and "D" or of the conscious processes, which has one of its fundamental tendencies, the increase of the professional abilities (Alvarez, 1989). In this sense, there are basic disciplines where the abilities that are developed, are identified with the professionals. Paper exposes how through the discipline: General chemistry is contributed to the development of professional abilities and the integral formation of the students.
