Abstract

The teaching of our national history is a main content in the curricular plans of Cuban higher education. Its importance is very much recognized and promoted by the Municipality University Seats (MUS), institutions that demand a different design and conceptualisation of the methodological activity due to its particular pedagogical model and teaching capacities. The creation of the MUS has required new ways of planning, structuring and putting into practice the teaching process --experiences that could be tested in other spaces of the Cuban university. This article explores one of these experiences. It analyses the design, development and assessment of the seminar "Josθ Martí: life, ideas and revolution" -essential activity in the Cuban History course that is taken by the majority of the first year students inscribed in the MUS.
