Abstract

This article reports on the theory that the 6,600-mile long and 4,000-mile wide depression on the planet Mars was caused by a collision or asteroid impact. The article discusses three research papers that reached this conclusion through gravity and topographical models, vertical impact examinations, and condition simulations. Information is also provided on impacts in the solar system 4 billion years ago.
