Abstract

The article discusses the functions of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz' principle of continuity and theory of consciousness. It notes that the theory of continuity will give an accurate analysis to various interpretations of the theory of consciousness, and is applicable against the Cartesian laws of motion than will lessen the first order features of a perception to various degree of perceptual distinctness. It also presents an account of the principle of continuity as a methodological principle showing a paradigm of a continuous transformation and proximity of formulations.
