Abstract: The author talks about the use of short sea shipping (S3). The author cites about the advantages of S3 over trucking and rail transport. According to the author, terminals should be designed for roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) ship traffic in order to facilitate S3 most efficiently. The author suggests several roadway modifications and related changes to make a terminal accessible to RORO.
