Abstract

India's long, blistering election season drew to a close Wednesday, as voters went to the polls for the fifth time in as many weeks to choose their next national government. With no single party expected to get a simple majority of seats in the 543-member Parliament, the shape and substance of the next administration will depend entirely on who locks arms with whom. Multiple partners are required to rule India today. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
