Abstract

Growing development of advanced technologies demands designing, continuously, new educational strategies and instructional mechanisms to provide effective teaching and learning processes improving quality in education. As we have discussed in a recent research, the spatial factor, and how a virtual environment is perceived and experienced by the subjects, as well as the opportunities that this environment allows and encourages are all relevant factors for designing proposals for teaching and learning supported by technologies. This complex relationship is manifested throughout perceptual, emotional and socio-cognitive aspects evidenced by individuals when they are interacting with those virtual environments. Thus, this complex framework of interactions subject-virtual environment requires a deeper analysis, and at the same time new ways of understanding, different from the traditional spaces, in order to improve educational processes developed by the technologies.
