Abstract

The article offers a look at the issues surrounding the proposed expansion of the Heathrow international airport in England. Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon postponed his decision on the expansion of the international airport due to noise pollution issues. Politician Tony Benn argued that the expansion should not proceed if the airport will fail to meet the European Union pollution targets. Various people, politicians and groups oppose the expansion, including the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and the Tories.
