Abstract

The article features the collaboration of REED-LO, web 2.0 technology to scaffold inquiry and interpretation, and Web-based Art Interactive Tool (WAIT) for students to engage with works of art in the U.S. The web tool is designed for students to access art and serves as feedback loop for art interpretations. It notes that the acronym of REED-LO represents the steps for students to interpret art with Reacting as the first step, Embracing, Exploring, Deciphering, and the Locating its historical context which concludes by forming Opinion. It infers that through WAIT, students realize that thoughts on art helps to make meaningful evidential accounts to the past such as the culture and era of artists.
