Vital Signs.

The article looks at the case of Ronnie Martin, a television sitcom creator who developed an unknown lower abdominal illness after eating a raw fish seviche in Bora-Bora, French Polynesia. Martin contacted the author, a tropical medicine specialist, who came to the conclusion that Martin's illness was caused by toxin. Various toxins and worms within fish are discussed. The author believes Martin had the ciguatera fish toxin, caused by the microalga Gambierdiscus toxicus, ingested by the fish.
