- The article discusses how picture books have evolved and changed through history. Beginning with cave pictures that told a story and the murals on Egyptian tombs, the author discusses how book illustration has become a tradition in children's literature. The article discusses how the handling of artwork has changed, the emergence of art galleries that represented the art of children's book illustration, and the market for original picture book illustrations.
