Abstract

This article discusses the possibility that corporate environmentalism can become a force for sustainable development. The need for companies to develop a sense of their leverage with regards to natural resources conservation and the prevention of environmental degradation is emphasized. The environmental policies of companies including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Ford Motor Co., and Aspen Skiing Co. are considered in terms of their relative impact on environmental change.
