- The article focuses on the increasing pressures for executive salaries to decline further in 2009. A proxy statement from Tenet Healthcare dated March 26, 2009 cited the move of the firm to cut the equity award of chief executive Trevor Fetter by 34%. It cites the decision of the U.S. government to ban bonuses and capped equity grants for the executives of some federal aid recipients. It also notes that Germany and Sweden have taken steps to curb executive pay.
