Meta-analysis of standard, restrictive and supplemental fluid administration in colorectal surgery.

The article focuses on the efficiency of administering supplemental fluid for colorectal surgery in Great Britain. The meta analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) is used to determine whether the perioperative fluid therapy is effective for patient's recovery after surgery. However, the use of fluid therapy may cause the prolong recovery of bowel function and impair wound healing when used excessively.
