The article presents a paper about bis[2,4-diamino-5-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)pyrimidin-1-ium] DL-malate. According to the article, a 1:2 salt can be formed from racemic malic acid in which the malate compound is disordered across a centre of inversion. It says that despite of the malic acid being one of the simplest chiral dicarboxylic acids, its role in supramolecular chemistry has not been widely studied.
