Abstract

The article features the evolution of the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Model 70 rifle in the U.S. It states that in 1936, the company, Winchester Repeating Arms, had manufactured the Model 70 that was nearly a masterpiece. Although the rifle boasted the best trigger, reliability and accuracy, it was a complex gun to make. It cites that at the end of the World War II, the production and quality of the rifle declined, which prompted Winchester to manufacture an improved Model 70 in 1964.
