Abstract

The article discusses the asymmetric reaction produced by carbon isotope chirality. According to the study of Kenso Soai and colleagues of Tokyo University of Science in Japan, the addition of zinc alkoxide made from an isotopically substituted alcohol would result to the pyrimidyl alkanol product's enantiomeric excess. Accordingly, the excess would then become amplified due to asymmetric autocatalysis.
