Abstract
- This article presents an examination into the thematic prevalence of the socio-political concepts of agency, belonging, and citizenship are manifested in Canadian adolescent literature of the late 20th- and early 21st-centuries. Questions are raised regarding the literary depiction and interaction with issues of Canadian multicultural identity, surveying ways in which its ideals and conflicts are addressed. Authors mentioned include Beatrice Culleton, Glen Huser, and Martine Leavitt.
