Abstract

The article reports on the failure of more than 80% of biofuels to hit eco-standard targets on deforestation, wildlife protection, pollution and water contamination in Great Britain. According to the first monthly report by the Renewable Fuels Agency, the country of origin for the crops used to make the fuels is only known 57% of the time. It also revealed that the level of biofuels in fuel sold in the country was 2.14%, some way short of the target of 2.5%.
