The article discusses a three-dimensional laser imaging system that is able to record the exact dimensions of ancient buildings and heritage sites. This system was created by nonprofit organization CyArk, and it uses laser scanners to collect data points for various structures. Archaeologist Elizabeth Lee worked with laser scanner manufacturer Frank Collazo to digitally record the exact measurements of a Zapotec temple in Mexico.
