Abstract

The article focuses on the benefits associated with the use of light emitting diodes (LED) in many different types of outdoor applications. If LED lighting is employed in higher power, white-light applications, the overall light pollution caused by lighting will decrease. LED-based lamps are easy to turn on and off, and they dim down to one percent. They also provide extremely directional light rather than emitting light in all directions.
