Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the pharmacists' perceptions about patient delivered partner therapy (PDPT) in the New York State. In this study, researchers conducted a survey of pharmacists and observed privacy-related spaces in pharmacies in order to determine pharmacists' perceptions about PDPT, education on sexually transmitted infections (STI), and potential barriers that need to be addressed in pharmacies for successful implementation of PDPT. According to the article, researchers conclude that pharmacists are open to considering PDPT as part of their professional functions. Although pharmacists need additional education in STI in general, it notes that capacity for this training can be established.
