Surviving the media spotlight.

The article examines the approaches nursing teams use to recover from reports of poor patient care that were exposed by the media. The case of a report from Great Britain's Healthcare Commission about an outbreak of Clostridium difficile at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is discussed. Efforts to improve patient care, including Improving staffing levels and reviewing patient acuity are discussed.
