Abstract
- The article discusses how the change in the world's financial status is molding a new kind of consumers in Australia which retailers profit from. The global crisis has awoken a side of every consumer made inactive by rising house prices, easy credit and record low unemployment. However, with the present crisis, almost 80% of consumers have cut back on expenditure and 58% have cut down on eating out, 53% on luxury grocery products, 49% on entertainment and 39% on overseas holidays.
