Abstract

This article deals with the Egyptian grammar school and its representatives. The Arabic grammar activities had started in Egypt after it was conquered by Arabs. Although the Egyptian grammar school had not produced a lot of original views, its representatives explained the existing grammar rules. Besides, it helped the education and teaching of Arabic grammar. Particularly, it contributed to the Moorish grammar scholars to learn Arabic grammar rules. The Egyptian grammar school which was represented by Ibn al-Hājeb, Ibn Hishām and al-Suyātāī is an important stage of Arabic grammar tradition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
