Abstract

The article presents a study on bacterial vaginosis (BV) which has been associated with increased HIV cervicovaginal shedding, and related to the enhancement of local HIV replication. It presents the analysis of the vaginal flora, cytokine/chemokine levels, and mucosoal immune cell populations in 15 HIV-infected Kenyan female sex workers. Results shows that BV elimination was associated in HIV replication.
