Abstract
- The article reports initial results from the Deliberative Justice Project, an experimental study in which individuals were assigned to deliberate in groups in which both the decision rule and the gender composition had been systematically controlled. The authors found that the group's gender composition significantly affects individual satisfaction with deliberation, but that the direction of the effect depends upon the decision rule. With respect to measures of outcome and performance, they found that gender composition also matters.
