Abstract

The article focuses on the Ford Motor Co. The company has been less seriously affected by the severe downturn in the automobile industry than its U.S. rivals General Motors and Chrysler. Ford's market share of automobile sales has increased each month from October, 2008 to January, 2009, although total U.S. automobile sales have fallen sharply in that time.
