We cannot live by scepticism alone.

An essay is presented concerning the need for science to represent the core of societal beliefs and organization. The author examines how science studies has been through two separate waves: one in which social scientists dominated and one characterized by skepticism about science. It is urged that there must be a medium between dogmatic science and sociology.
