Abstract

The article examines the study which determines the use of emotional intelligence levels of academic staff in predicting their humor style and life satisfaction in significant levels. 362 academic staff, comprising of 134 women and 228 men, are made as the subject of the study. They were asked to answer Humor Styles Questionnaire, Life Satisfaction Scale and the Satisfaction with Life Scale in order to derive the desired results. When the answers from these three questionnaires were evaluated, it was revealed that emotional intelligence sub-scales of personal skills, interpersonal skills, adaptation, and coping with stress are different with regards to academic degree variable.
